Gunmen have kidnapped the district head of Kuchibuyi, a small village outside of Kubwa in the Bwari local council of the FCT.
Malam Isiaka Dauda was kidnapped in his private apartment, which was a few meters from his palace, during an attack that lasted between midnight and one in the morning on Sunday, July 17, according to a community leader who spoke to Daily Trust.
The community leader said the gunmen numbering about ten, fired two gunshots on arrival, alerting the community’s security vigilantes. It was further learnt that the vigilantes had to stay off as the kidnappers aimed at them as they approached.
The gunmen were said to have initially forced their way into a room within the compound, before moving to another one, where they found the chief.
He said;
“They left with him without any resistance. They passed through an untarred road that leads to Bwari town.’’
The police area commander in Kubwa, ACP Muhammad Ndagi, who confirmed the incident, said investigation into the matter is ongoing.
This is coming three months after the traditional ruler of Bukpe community in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), His Royal Highness (HRH) Alhaji Hassan Shamidozhi, was abducted from his palace.
