Houcine Benayada has warned that the Super Eagles will be out for revenge when they take on Algeria in today’s friendly encounter.
The two-time African champions have defeated the Super Eagles in the last two meetings between both teams.
The Desert Foxes defeated Nigeria 2-1 on their way to winning the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Manchester City winger, Riyadh Mahrez scored a free-kick deep into stoppage time to help Algeria win the semi-final contest.
Djamel Belmadi’s side also defeated the Super Eagles 1-0 in a friendly in 2020.
Benayada is aware the Super Eagles will be out to avenge their defeat in the recent meetings.
“We are going to face a very good team from Nigeria, even if we also had enormous difficulties to overcome the Guineans who caused us a lot of problems during the previous match,” Benayada was quoted by dzfoot.com.
“We know that the players of Nigeria will face us with a spirit of revenge since we remain on two victories against them, but our objective will be to beat them again and improve on the previous match.”
Today’s encounter will hold at Miloud Hadefi Stadium. Kick-off is 8 pm Nigeria time.
