Dr. Nnamdi Okafor, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, passed away in South Africa.
The majority leader of the house and representative for Awka South Constituency 1 fell ill early on August 23 in a hotel in Sandton City, Johannesburg. His death was later confirmed.
The medical doctor and pharmacist by training popularly called Akajiugo Awka, was said to have gone for a legislative retreat in Johannesburg with other lawmakers.
The full details of the cause of his death are yet to be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
