All regions of the nation’s petrol prices have now officially risen above N165.
According to the Guardian, on Tuesday, July 19, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited approved an increase in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from N165 per liter to N179 per liter.
In a notice to fuel marketers, the NNPC ordered a change of petrol price on pumps to the new price effective today. This is also coming after the company equally increased the ex-depot price from N148.17 to N167 per litre.
This is coming after fuel queues resurfaced across the country, with fuel retailers adopting different price bands to force unofficial deregulation attempts.
